Saurav Sinha

Saurav Sinha grew up in Bhagwatpur, a village in Bihar small enough that everyone knew what everyone else owed. He lives in Delhi now, which is far enough away to write about it.

He finished an engineering degree, sold his first piece of writing at nineteen, and has been writing full time since. Most of that work has been for the screen, where he learned to build a scene around the thing a character refuses to say. He also writes on ancient history and mythology, on the argument that the old stories are not decoration and still explain a great deal about how people live now.

In Her Sixteen is his first work of fiction. It is set in rural India in 2002, in a village where everyone can see what is being done to a girl and no one says a word.
