George's lifelong interest in leadership was inspired as an Army brat growing up in the shadows of two charter members of the Greatest Generation, his father a WWII, Korea, and Vietnam veteran, and his mother, a British War Bride. His father instilled in him a philosophy that being a leader is about selflessness, doing what is best for the greater good, even if it comes at a personal expense. From his English mother, who as a teenager, had to climb into bomb shelters during German air raids most nights during WWII, he learned how to keep a stiff upper lip, keep calm, and carry on in tough times.
George served thirty years in the Army retiring as a colonel. He is a graduate of the Army’s Airborne and Ranger schools and commanded infantry units at the platoon, company, battalion, and brigade level.
Upon entering the corporate world, he served in leadership positions at The Coca-Cola Co., IMI Cornelius, & ViaGlobal. Deciding not to fully retire, he has been an adjunct professor teaching graduate-level leadership courses for the US Air Force Air University and a leadership consultant and coach for mid- to large-size companies.
George earned a bachelor’s degree in history from North Georgia College, a master’s degree in psychology from Purdue University, and is a graduate of the National War College.
