Nancy Mcneil

Nancy McNeil is a debut, self-published children's picture book author. Her book, "Becki's Farming Adventures: Becki and the Trailer Kids (Spring)," won a silver medal in the 2025 Global Book Awards, Children's Farm Life competition. Nancy shares this award with Solomiia (GetYourBookIllustrations - GYBI) for the book's beautiful illustrations, and with Kezia (GYBI) for the stunning cover and amazing book design.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Nancy studied at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has a post-secondary certificate from BCIT in Health Data Technology and an undergraduate degree in Physical Education from UBC.

"Becki's Farming Adventures" is a series of four children's picture books for five to-eight-year-olds. The four books in this series include:

* "Becki and the Trailer Kids (Spring);" and,

* "Becki and the Blue Ribbon (Summer);" and,

* "Becki and the Flyers of Meyer's Marsh (Fall);" and,

* "Becki and the Christmas Hummingbirds (Winter)."

Books 2, 3, and 4 are 'works in progress' (WIP). Book 2 will be self-published in 2026; books 3 and 4 will be self-published in 2027.

Nancy and her husband have a small farm in Coquitlam, BC. She tends her nursery trees and raises animals like goats, llamas, and alpacas. Additionally, she assists her neighbors with their chickens, pigs, and sheep. Caring for and working with her rescued llama, Alpaca-chino (or "Al," for short) is by far her most memorable animal.

Other favorite times include playtime with her four grandchildren, usually at a playground, beach, lake, or in a swimming pool; skipping stones across a pond; reading children's picture books; flying paper airplanes; drawing and coloring; playing air hockey or street hockey, and much more. Nancy says that amazing moments happen when playing with and reading to her grandkids!
