Tierre Tates

Tierre Tates uses her powerful voice to share faith-based stories about resilience and truth through her position as an advocate and writer and survivor. Tierre uses her life to empower people through her family partnership work in public service and her ongoing ovarian cancer advocacy and authentic writing which supports people going through life transitions.

Her path has been anything but conventional. Strayer University awarded Tierre her Bachelor's degree while she prepares to finish her Master of Public Administration degree before walking the stage in June 2025. Her life combines the roles of motherhood with community leadership and full-time digital transformation work which she performs while staying true to her mission of serving and healing others.

Through her debut book The In-Between Friend Tierre reveals an important exploration about people who connect brokenness to breakthrough while moving between joy and grief and visibility and silence. Through her personal reflections about friendship and womanhood and survival and self-worth she speaks about those who silently care for others even though they carry their own hidden burdens.

The written words exist for people who possess inner strength yet stay out of sight and who provide support without expecting assistance and maintain silence while expressing love from unseen positions. Through her writing Tierre develops spaces for truthful healing which demonstrates that quiet healing methods can be equally transformative.

Tierre dedicates her life to parenting her daughter Khloe and is an 14 year ovarian cancer survivor while actively serving her community. Through her authentic and servant-minded leadership she dedicates herself to bring integrity and transparency and heartfelt presence to every space she enters.
