Randall Fowler

Randall Fowler (PhD, Maryland) is Assistant Professor of Political Rhetoric and Director of Undergraduate Research at Abilene Christian University. He is an expert in presidential rhetoric, religious discourse, the Cold War, and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.

Randall served as a 2013-2014 Fulbright Award ETA in Jordan. He is also the winner of the 2025 Janice Hocker Rushing Early Career Research Award, a major national research award in Communication Studies. A teacher at heart, he loves to connect bold students and big ideas.

His award-winning research has appeared in Quarterly Journal of Speech, Rhetoric & Public Affairs, Nuclear Technology, International Journal of Politics, Culture, & Society, Journal of Communication & Religion, Journal of Arab & Muslim Media Research, Pacific Journal, Providence, Mere Orthodoxy, and other outlets. A 5th generation West Texan, he has lived in Addis Ababa, Amman, London, New York, Washington D.C., Waco, and the California Central Valley. Randall now resides in his hometown, where he enjoys unmatched sunsets.
