I am Ruby Quynh Truong, a Vietnamese-born children's writer and storyteller passionate about emotional literacy, psychological resilience, and healing through fantasy. With a strong background in child psychology, emotional intelligence, and creative education, I craft stories that resonate deeply with young readers and the adults who care for them.
Holding an MSc in Project Management from Birmingham City University (UK), my true calling lies in writing narratives that bridge emotional gaps between generations. Her debut series, Lucky and the Adventures of the Valley of Wishes, blends social-emotional themes with magical realism, aiming to spark imagination and foster empathy.
My experience as a school teacher and years of volunteering in child-focused organizations have allowed me to build trusting relationships with children and gain insight into their emotional challenges, especially those stemming from feeling misunderstood by adults. These real-life connections inform every page I write.
In addition to her educational work, I have four years of experience as an academic writer. This blend of creative and educational expertise enables me to craft stories that are emotionally rich, developmentally mindful, and deeply engaging.
I believe that every quiet child deserves to be truly seen. Through my writing, I aim to help children make sense of their feelings, celebrate their unique inner worlds, and find strength in vulnerability. And I hope my book series can be a small light on that journey.
