Raphael F. Estevao

Written by certified instructor and former international competitor Raphael F. Estevao. As a coach, he has sent multiple athletes to the Savate World Championships — in 2024, three returned with medals — and even the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC News) featured a TV report on the training session, where their reporter left with a few bruises and a newfound respect for the sport.

Unlike generic combat sport manuals, the book "Savate: A Comprehensive Guide to a European Martial Art and Modern Combat Sport" blends practical training, history, and philosophy to give readers a comprehensive understanding of savate’s roots and modern relevance. If you're curious about one of Europe’s hidden combat arts, this is the guide you’ve been waiting for. This book offers a balanced approach, bilingual terminology that benefits coaches, students, and educators alike—an essential resource for martial artists, instructors, and combat sport enthusiasts seeking something beyond the mainstream.
