Pedro Avery spent thirty-five years in advertising, working at agencies including J. Walter Thompson and Havas, before discovering his passion for writing on a sun lounger in Spain. Now Executive Chairman of Bicycle London, he draws on his extensive business experience and travels between Gibraltar, Bilbao, and Estepona to craft authentic international thrillers.
His inspiration came from witnessing cryptocurrency collapses firsthand and working with Ukrainian gaming companies during wartime. Having observed the desperate journeys of migrants crossing the Gibraltar Strait, Pedro wanted to explore how personal trauma can drive global revenge.
A trustee of Demelza Hospice and member of London Writers' Forum, Pedro is passionate about proving that dyslexics who struggled with English can write compelling fiction. He credits Paul Theroux with inspiring his love of reading during late-teen train journeys to Charing Cross.
The Gibraltar Protocol is his debut novel, blending cyber-thriller elements with international espionage. When not writing or running his agency, he enjoys photography and travel.
Born in Spain to a Spanish mother and raised in South East London, Pedro regularly travels between the locations that feature prominently in his fiction.
