Leon Schofield

I am a retired clinical psychologist with a wide range of hobbies and interests including writing. I started a writers' group- Pelican Pens- ten years ago and we have seen at least 40 residents of our community, Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers Florida, spend a few years or more honing their writing skills in our group. I minored in English literature in college and I have enjoyed returning to my early interests in the literary arts.

My writing style is relatively unique. I enjoy blending flash fiction with memoire and social satire. Boundaries are blurred purposefully to maintain variety and interest for myself as well as for the reader. Short stories often fit into themes of exploring human strengths and frailties as you can see in "The Magic of Life". I look forward to my next writing challenge- exploring the roles assigned and sought as we live our lives- and how these roles enhance and limit our lives. This will be a logical extension of "The Magic of Life". I look forward to reviews and comments from readers.

Additional hobbies and interests have included ink and water color painting, scuba diving, bird banding, duplicate bridge and chess. Living life fully and enjoying our brief ride is my personal goal. I hope and trust you will have similar aspirations.
