Shellee Hance is an author and creative producer whose work centers around authentic storytelling for young readers. With a professional background in photography and a natural eye for composition, Shellee brings a unique voice to children’s books—one that blends heart, imagination, and emotional honesty.
Her path to publishing began through her photography business, where she developed a deep appreciation for capturing genuine moments and the small, meaningful details that often go unnoticed. This passion for meaningful connection naturally evolved into writing, where she now creates stories that help children explore the world with curiosity, confidence, and compassion.
Her debut picture book, Beau the Bear’s Big Yosemite Adventure, invites young readers into the wonder of Yosemite National Park through the eyes of an adventurous young bear. It's the first in an ongoing series of nature-inspired children's books for ages 3–7, each centered on gentle life lessons, friendship, and the magic of discovering something new.
Though her stories often take place in wild, scenic places, Shellee herself is not an outdoorsy type. She finds inspiration in quiet creativity, thoughtful design, and the emotional threads that connect us to the world—and to one another. Her goal as an author is to write books that feel warm, honest, and timeless.
Shellee lives in Northern California, where she continues to create, write, and dream up new adventures for children and the grownups who read to them.
