Taylor Kingston

Taylor Kingston (born 1949) has been a chess enthusiast since his teens, with Postal Master and Class A OTB ratings to his credit. No longer active as a player, he has turned to writing about the game's history. His historical articles have appeared in the magazines Chess Life, New in Chess, Inside Chess, and Kingpin. His books include "Chess in the Third Reich" (2025), “Nudging Lasker’s Pedestal” (2025), biographies of Edgard Colle and Carlos Torre, and a collection of Lasker’s writings. Additionally, he has translated from Spanish Miguel Najdorf's book of the Zurich 1953 Candidates Tournament, and "Najdorf x Najdorf," a biography of him by his daughter Liliana, and edited numerous numerous reprints of classics such as Lasker's "Manual of Chess" and "St. Petersburg 1909," Alekhine's "New York 1924," and best game collections by Alekhine and Tartakower. He lives with his wife in Paso Robles, California.
