About the Author:
Bridgette Tolbert was born and raised in Colorado as the youngest girl in a family of ten siblings, six girls and four boys. Though she’s experienced the loss of three siblings, she carries their memories in her heart as one of the seven remaining.
Bridgette is biracial and proudly identifies as both Black and white. Her life has included complex challenges navigating racism and acceptance from both sides, shaping her compassion, empathy, and drive to advocate for unity and understanding.
Her personal journey includes overcoming childhood trauma, teenage hardships, and workplace adversity that often reopened old wounds. Each experience has deepened her passion for mental health, especially for children and the inner child that still lives in every adult.
Bridgette is an artist, painter, photographer, writer, wellness advocate, and avid golfer. She thrives when she is creating, connecting, and giving back, whether she’s on the golf course, standing in front of a canvas, spending time with others, or finding ways to make a positive difference in someone’s life. These are the spaces where she feels most alive, grounded, and connected to who she is.
She self-published her first book in 2018 a health and fitness guide for families, and continues to create books that promote healing, self-expression, and laughter.
Bridgette is also the proud mother of two grown, successful children who now encourage her to live boldly for herself. Despite navigating painful friendships, divorce, workplace trauma, and heartbreak, she remains rooted in faith, resilience, and a calling to give back.
She continues her career in network engineering while embracing what brings her joy. Like so many others, Bridgette’s healing is an ongoing journey. She continues to navigate life one day at a time, working, creating, growing, and giving herself the grace to heal along the way.
Thank you for supporting her journey.
