Morag Rose is a walking artist-activist-academic. In 2006 she founded psychogeographical collective The LRM (Loiterers Resistance Movement). On the First Sunday of every month The LRM host a free wander in Greater Manchester which is open to anyone who wished to join in. They also organise exhibitions, events and tours. The LRM manifesto states "the streets belong to everyone. Our city is wonderful and made for more than shopping. We want to reclaim them for play and revolutionary fun". Morag is also chair of Our Irwell, a community group dedicated to promoting, protecting and progressing public access to the River Irwell. The group formed after a successful campaign to stop developers building over part of the towpath. Morag works as Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at The University of Liverpool, and was part of the WalkCreate project exploring community, creativity and wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic.
