Alan Grodecki

I'm Alan Grodecki. I write for people who are past fifty and would like the next twenty years to feel like something other than a slow negotiation.

At fifty I weighed 334 pounds. I buried two friends my own age inside a single year, and somewhere in there I stopped being able to tell myself it was fine. So I changed how I ate. Eighty-four pounds came off — and I found out something nobody warns you about: the weight was not the only thing in my way. I still had a neck and a back with their own opinions, and stairs that had somehow gotten longer.

That's the whole map of what I write.

The Crushing It With Keto! books are the food half — keto and intermittent fasting for people over fifty, written for real kitchens, real schedules, and bodies that don't bounce back the way they did at thirty. My wife does this alongside me, so the plans bend. For travel, for couples, for the week that falls apart.

True Course is the movement half. Gentle, seated, ten minutes a day, drawn large enough to actually see. It started with chair tai chi because that's where I needed to start.

A few things I'm not. I'm not a doctor. I don't sell miracles, and I have never once used the word biohack. I'm a service-disabled veteran, a husband, a father, and a grandfather in his sixties who does his own ten minutes and eats his own breakfast — usually later than most people think is reasonable.

What I believe, after all of it: consistency beats intensity, signals beat rules, and the goal was never to be twenty-five again. It's to still get down on the floor with a grandchild and get back up.

Start where you are. Go slow. Keep going.
