Fron Nahzi

Fron Nahzi, born in Kosovo and raised in the U.S., is the son of Albanian exiles who immigrated in 1968. He returned to the Balkans in 1991 to lead democracy programs for U.S. and European donors while writing on the region’s politics and society. His essays and stories —translated into over 15 languages—have appeared in The Guardian, The Independent, Politico, Le Courrier, Gazeta Wyborcza, Project Syndicate, Newsday, and Balkan Insight. He has also appeared as an analyst on CNN, BBC, PBS, and NPR. He is the author of Between the Bronx and the Balkans, a satirical short story collection chronicling his return to the turbulent 1990s Balkans. His latest book, Ethnic Interest Groups and U.S. Foreign Policy, offers an insider’s account of Albanian-American activism, drawing on interviews, declassified documents, and firsthand experience.
