About the Author:

Glenn Stewart is an author and amateur historian who lives in the Pacific Northwest near the Canadian Border. Though born on the famed King Ranch, he grew up in South Louisiana, which is the setting for his new series, Chasing Sally. His intimate knowledge of Louisiana combines with his knowledge of history to create compelling, authentic stories. His characters are rich in texture, and come alive as they navigate the challenges of the Depression, 2 world wars, Jim Crow, and more. Glenn was raised by strong, independent women, who serve as the models for his protagonist and other leading characters. Follow the "Harrisons" as they struggle to create, and then protect a safe, welcoming place---"The Lucy H Ranch"--- in the heart of the tangled milieu that was the Jim Crow South.

My story is entirely fictional, as are the characters. The main players are either modeled upon, or a composite of people I knew---My mother, my grandmother, my great grandmother, and many others make an

'appearance.' They were the daughters and granddaughters of people who were part & parcel of an inhumane institution. Still, they were not their ancestors, and each was kind and generous to everyone regardless of station or status. The women in my novels behave toward others as I remember my mother, grandmothers, and great grandmothers

behaved. It has been said that all novels are memoirs, and though overstated, I cannot entirely disagree.
