I knew that I was different and didn’t fit in during first grade at school. Over the
years, I learned to hide in the education system, but I wish I had found my label
earlier in life and understood myself.
I am one with my label of being autistic. It is who I am. It is my personality. Many years
in the educational system have not changed how my brain works. I am NOT someone with autism. I AM autism. I have done some amazing things. I thrive when I am in nature with
eagles, cats, and my plants.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in education and master’s degree in School Counseling from Liberty University.
I served many long years in the education system until my rare brain disease (Cerebral Cavernous Malformation) and heart aneurysm became too serious. I love to paint and illustrated this book.
