Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Addie Citchens graduated from Jackson State University and attended the Callaloo Workshop. Her writing has been published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Midnight & Indigo, Mississippi Folklife Magazine, and The Oxford American. She is a 2025 O. Henry Award winner for her story, “That Girl.” FSG's inaugural Writer's Fellow, her highly-anticipated debut novel, Dominion, was released in August 2025. Dominion won the Tate-Green Memorial Prize and was shortlisted for the Willie Morris Award, the LA Times Award for First Fiction, the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, and the Women’s Prize.
