Carl Bogan

With over 20 years in visual effects and AI, Carl holds several patents for image processing methods. He's led creative teams for Fortune 500 companies and major entertainment brands, teaching deepfake workshops internationally while developing defense strategies for organizations worldwide.

Carl Bogan is a creative technologist who spent several years as the viral deepfake creator Myster Giraffe, garnering hundreds of millions of views with creations like Will Smith as Cardi B and Steve Harvey as Megan Thee Stallion. His work caught the attention of Will Smith himself, who responded: "Whoever did this is hired."

After successfully infiltrating a deepfake detection company while wearing Frank Sinatra's face during their job interview, and being offered the position, Carl realized the technology he'd helped pioneer was becoming a weapon. This led him to switch sides, becoming an advocate for deepfake defense and AI safety.

His book "Behind the AI Mask: Protecting Your Business from Deepfakes" draws from his unique position as both creator and defender, offering insider knowledge of how these attacks work and, most importantly, how to stop them. Carl believes the best person to teach defense against wolves is someone who used to be one.

Based in Los Angeles, Carl now dedicates his expertise to helping companies build cultures of verification before they become the next multimillion-dollar victim. He provides consulting and training for organizations preparing for the deepfake threats of 2026 and beyond.
