Sachin Kumar

Dr. Sachin Kumar is a distinguished academic, researcher, and global thought leader in the field of Artificial Intelligence. He is a fellow at Harvard Univeristy and doing research on AI and Climate Action. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC), University of Delhi, and also as the Executive Officer of the University of Delhi Foundation. Holding a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Delhi, his groundbreaking research on “Modeling and Prediction of Building Energy Performance Using Machine Learning Approaches” has been published in some of the world’s most prestigious journals, including Energy and Buildings (Elsevier, IF=7.6) and Sustainable Cities and Society (Elsevier, IF=11.5). His research has made significant contributions to the fields of energy optimization and sustainable smart cities using Artificial Intelligence. With over 12 years of diverse experience spanning academia, industry, and research, Dr. Kumar brings a unique blend of practical and theoretical expertise. He has worked as a Software Development Engineer at IHS Information Mosaic, UK, gaining valuable industry exposure alongside his academic pursuits. His work today focuses on cutting-edge AI applications in areas such as Machine Learning, AI for Social Good, Climate Change and Sustainability, Urban Computing, Social Network Analysis, and Computational Social Systems. As a passionate teacher and mentor, Dr. Kumar has successfully trained more than 5,000 students, professionals, faculty members, government officials, and business leaders in Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, and digital transformation. His training programs have empowered individuals across sectors to leverage AI for meaningful impact, making him one of the most respected voices in AI today.

His international engagements have helped bridge cutting-edge AI innovations with real-world societal challenges. An accomplished AI researcher and author, Dr. Kumar has published over 35 research articles and authored/edited three influential books: Operating Systems: Concept Building and Problem-Solving Approach (Cengage, USA), Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence and Society: Opportunities and Challenges (Springer) and Responsible Artificial Intelligence for Ethical and Governance Challenges in Society Critical Reflections from Policy Landscape (Springer, In press), contributing to shaping global discussions on responsible AI. His research insights have been featured in policy documents for G20-2023, strengthening AI’s role in sustainable development and global governance frameworks.

As Principal Investigator of several funded research projects, Dr. Kumar leads transformative work at the intersection of AI, business transformation, urban challenges, climate change, and social systems. Dr. Kumar’s contributions extend beyond national boundaries. He has actively collaborated and exchanged knowledge with some of the world’s most renowned AI professors, leading experts, and innovators and business leaders, technocrates, government heads and officials from the top technical institutes, universities institutions, and corporations globally. He has been an invited speaker for his cutting-edge research work at prestigious international conferences, including IEEE-WCCI, IEEE-IJCNN, and ACM-ICEGOV and in academic and professional forums.

A recognised member of IEEE and ACM, Dr. Kumar is committed to advancing AI for societal benefit.
