Rae Murphy is a children’s book author from Lexington, North Carolina, whose mission is to uplift, affirm, and inspire every child — especially those who don’t always see themselves in the pages of a book. A proud sister to five sisters and one amazing brother with special needs, Rae’s writing is deeply rooted in love, family, and lived experience.
Rae lost her mother to breast cancer in 2004, a life-changing moment that fueled her passion to help others through both storytelling and service. When she’s not writing, Rae works in the healthcare field, supports youth empowerment efforts, and enjoys life with her fiancé, family, and her labradoodle Lucy. She doesn’t have children yet, but pours her heart into every book she creates for the next generation.
Her titles include Faith & Emma, I Can Do Big Things, I Am Me, I Can Be, and I Can Be Anything — all created to spark confidence, celebrate diversity, and remind kids that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness.
