Shamon Lawrence

Shamon Lawrence is an educator, writer, and advocate for equity in public education. A graduate of NYU and a former student of Long Island classrooms, he now teaches in New York City, where his work explores the intersections of identity, pedagogy, and poetic witness. His writing draws from the Black Baptist tradition, literary canon, and the quiet moments that make school more than just a place to learn.
