I am a British poet mapping the landscapes of Great Britain — not with sentiment, but with precision.

My ongoing series, British Counties In Verse, takes one county at a time and listens hard: to the geology beneath the soil, the industry pressed into the stone, the centuries of bargaining with land and weather. These poems refuse the postcard. What they find underneath is stranger, older, and more alive.

Born in North Yorkshire, I write from the ground up — from rock, ore, tide and fell — grounding every line in research and time on location. The result is language that is exact without being cold, and beautiful without being easy.

The journey runs from 'Cornwall In Verse — Tide To Tor', across 'North Yorkshire In Verse — Moor To Shore' and 'Cumbria In Verse — Lakes To Fells', with 'Somerset In Verse — Exmoor To Levels' arriving September 2026.
