Kempes Astolfi

Kempes Astolfi is an Italian director, writer, screenwriter and essayist born in 1978 in Civitavecchia, near Rome.

He has been writing books since 2013 and is the author of the bestseller The Writers' War, published by Prospettiva Editrice in 2019.

In 2001 he began his career as a director and screenwriter, shooting short films and music videos. In 2008, after two years of study, he earned his diploma in Directing and Screenwriting from the Scuola delle Arti.

In 2012 he filmed the pilot episode of Invade The Trash Series; the following year he created the 30SecondsEvents movement, organized several flash mobs, and published his first book, The Perfect Embrace, with Prospettiva Editrice. Over the next three years he published Curious Anecdotes About Football, What Italian Cats Think of Foreign Felines and The Woman Who Sniffed Bookshops, also with Prospettiva Editrice. He simultaneously launched the open-book project A Thousand Stories for a Thousand Words, also known as One Million Words, which is still ongoing.

In 2015 he worked as assistant director on On Air — Storia di un Successo, released in Italian cinemas in March 2016.

He is the creator of the Literary Photography Movement KomeSto? In 2007 he printed the K? Calendars, tied to the movement, with international distribution. From 2008 onwards he travelled the world with the KomeSto? Tour, the live version of the event he originally created on his portal.

In 2018 he moved to Dubai, where he currently lives.

In recent years he has worked on several personal growth books, including If I Could Be Infinite, Volumes I and II, as well as new socio-cultural novels such as The Football Match, while continuing his short story collection with new releases.

In 2024 his first essay, Imagine the Power of an Idea That Changes Your Life, was published, and in 2025 he released You Are My Shinrin Yoku alongside the multiple award-winning 1975: The Pizza Heist, published by Aries Publishing.

The author has built his career and his path on a vision of the unconventional, on creativity and eclecticism, always exploring new roads and putting himself on the line in the first person.
