Thomas Farley

I’m a pediatrician, epidemiologist, and public health expert. Over a 40-year career I’ve been a professor of public health and worked in government at the federal, state, and local levels, including serving as Commissioner of Health for New York City and for Philadelphia. I’ve published two books on public health for general readers under the name Tom Farley (Prescription for a Healthy Nation and Saving Gotham) and a textbook for students of public health under the name Thomas Farley (Prevention of Diseases in Populations: From Biology to Policy.) Today I teach, consult in public health and write Healthscaping, a newsletter on Substack.
