ARLY-EVENS JOSEPH

Arly-Evens Joseph was born in 1973 in Saint-Raphaël, Haiti, and raised in Port-au-Prince, where his early years were shaped by resilience and transition. Educated at École Darius Denis, Collège Saint-Patrick, and Collège Roger Anglade, he later pursued Agricultural Science at Université Jacques Théodore Holly while teaching mathematics at his former high school. He also studied Accounting at INUQUA.

In 2001, Joseph co-founded one of the first internet centers in his community, providing a vital digital link for Haitians to connect with family abroad. In 2005, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada, to further his studies in mathematics, before resettling a decade later in Queens, New York. He earned his degree from CUNY Queens College in 2020.

Joseph is the author of both literary and children’s works, blending memory, culture, and imagination. His writing draws from personal experience and diaspora life, marked by themes of resilience, identity, and belonging. He lives in Queens with his wife and son.
