Lorraine Bruce

Hi, my name is Lorraine and I am a passionate music teacher, writer, poet, and lover of the great outdoors. Originally from Kent in the UK I now live in Spain with my husband and three rescue cats. I had played piano and loved music all my life, but it wasn't until my midlife crisis I decided to follow my dream and go to University to get a degree in music. I loved being a mature student and learned so much during my time at University. I left with a 1st class (hons) BMus and found my calling was teaching, and now teach piano and singing to all ages including children with autism and sensory problems. When I'm not teaching I love keeping fit, gardening, and going for long walks amongst the wonders of mother nature.

I also love song writing which is what led me to write my first collection of poems. After my mum was diagnosed with Dementia in 2015 I started writing songs and poems about my journey with my mum's Dementia. I read some of my poetry at my mum's funeral and was asked if I had thought about having them published. The next stop was Austin Macauley who have helped me to finally publish my book of poems as both a tribute to my mum and to help raise awareness of Dementia.

I am currently writing more poetry and looking to write a children's book about my experience with teaching autistic children.
