I am a certified trichologist, licensed master cosmetologist, salon owner, and natural hair educator dedicated to transforming the way people understand and care for textured hair. As the founder of Prevail Natural Hair Salon, I’ve built more than a business—I’ve built a space of healing, education, and empowerment. My passion lies in helping clients restore their hair and their confidence, with a focus on scalp health, natural hair restoration, and hair loss solutions.
Beyond the salon chair, I created the innovative shrinkage-based hair texture scale, a system designed to give people a clearer, science-based understanding of their natural hair. I’m also the author of the “From Root to Tip: A Growing Hands Guide for Natural Hair” series, a ten-part collection of guides that blend science, culture, and practical care strategies for growth, moisture, and styling.
As an educator, I train stylists in foundational techniques—shampooing, detangling, blow-drying, and styling—so they can confidently serve clients with textured hair. I also host shadowing programs and one-on-one classes to share the skills and knowledge that make healthy hair care possible.
In addition to my work in the salon and classroom, I co-host “Socially Cultur’d,” a podcast and YouTube series where we dive into real conversations about Black culture, beauty, and the hair industry, mixing humor, truth, and education along the way.
Through everything I do—as an author, educator, entrepreneur, trichologist, and mentor—my mission remains the same: to help people embrace their natural beauty, restore their confidence, and thrive both inside and out.
