Hashim Garrett is a motivational speaker and author who has spent more than two decades helping people turn pain into purpose. At 15, he survived a spinal cord injury caused by gun violence—an event that shaped his message of resilience, forgiveness, and growth.
He now shares his story with students, educators, and organizations worldwide, inspiring audiences to rise above setbacks and embrace second chances. His talks have reached schools, colleges, CEOs, athletes, and everyday people seeking strength through struggle.
Currently pursuing his Master’s in Social Work at New York University, Hashim advocates for marginalized communities, particularly people living with disabilities. When he’s not speaking or writing, he enjoys time with his children, reading scripture, traveling, exercising, and supporting charities. How to Fall Up is his debut book, sparking conversations about resilience and self-discovery.
