Marcus Lemuel McCrary

I am called Marcus McCrary. I am a native to Nashville, Tennessee. At the age of 14 i read some poetry that my mom wrote.. I became a poet that day... later inspired by Prince, Stevie, Maya Angelu, Descartes, and Khalil Gibran. I left Nashville at age 17 to join the US Navy where i served as an original crew member aboard The USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. I also served at The Washington Navy Yard in the District of Columbia, Newport News, and NSDAT San Diego, CA. The whole time, I wanted to be a musician, was already a poet from high school and a commercial artist. Went on to Northern Virginia Community College and Tennessee State University where I studied music and sociology. I began writing poetry and song lyrics.... after the navy I began polishing up my performance skills and started singing and performing on the Nashville music scene. My first book "The Eclectic File of Abstract Poetry" a collection of high school poetry plus a few new poems I had written through the years made it to publishment in 2017 with Amazon. I will continue to venture into the worlds of poetry, artistry, music, audio and visual arts. My second book, all written in my 40s, definitely a more mature writing.. titled, "The Abstract File of Eclectic Poetry" is set for September 2025 release on Amazon.
