Laida Lee

Laida Lee is a Malaysian Canadian author whose stories explore how love, romantic, communal, and self, can help us find beauty and hope in a world shaped by suffering.

Rooted in her queer identity and political consciousness, her work confronts social and political issues, offering both critique and comfort in response to a life under fascism, capitalism, and patriarchy. Her debut novel, Blue Hour, is a romance that follows diverse, complex characters in their pursuit of self-actualizing love.

She lives in Toronto with her partner and dog, surrounded by a supportive system of family and friends who inspire her writing.
