Dr Atm S. Alam

Dr. Atm S. Alam is an AWARD-WINNING educator, researcher, innovator, and author passionate about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and inclusive STEM education. He serves as Programme Director and Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, a prestigious Russell Group university, where he leads the B.Eng. programme in Electronic Information Engineering within the computer science discipline.

Dr. Alam has secured multiple funding grants and received the Queen Mary Education Excellence Award 2023/24 for his outstanding contributions to teaching and learning. His work has also been shortlisted for the 2025 QS Reimagine Education Awards - often described as the “Oscars of Education” - in the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion category, with the final results to be announced in December 2025.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) and a Member of the IEEE, Dr. Alam combines his expertise in AI and Information & Communication Engineering with a deep commitment to educational inclusivity and innovation.

Through his children’s book series, Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Young Kids, Dr. Alam brings his expertise into fun, engaging, and easy-to-understand stories that spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and build future-ready skills in children aged 3-10 (and beyond).
