Susan Rose Simms

Susan Rose (Rosie) Simms is a children's book author and former speech pathologist. She has written over 90 educational books and materials, including board games, card sets, apps, reproducible workbooks, hi-lo readers and more.

Rosie graduated from UCLA with a degree in English. She went on to get an elementary teaching credential. She earned a master’s degree in Communicative Disorders from Cal State Northridge. Her experience as a speech and language pathologist was the springboard for her educational products.

Her career began by writing for numerous magazine and newspaper publications, but her passion for writing stories, creating activities, rhyming, and her love affair with words led her into the world of games, books, apps, ebooks, and reproducible teacher materials. Rosie won a Parents’ Choice Award for her book, “Let’s Take a Trip,” published by YES! Entertainment. She has also won numerous accolades in country songwriting and recently took first prize in the 2024 American Songwriting Lyric May/June contest with her song “Look Before You Leave.”

Today Rosie is a children's book author with Wonder House. Two of her rhyming board books, Counting Train Track and In My Car are now out. The Counting Bus (Wait for Us) will be out in April. I Love You, Sweet Baby, will follow. Two more books, Peek, Speak and Seek Animals, ( A "lift the flap: book) will be starting soon. A Pirate Adventure will follow.
