Jeri Rowe

Jeri Rowe is a newsroom ex-pat, a South Carolinian and a first-generation college grad who grew up among soldiers and storytellers. He spent nearly 30 years in daily journalism in four states. For nearly a quarter century, he worked as a reporter, editor, and columnist at the News & Record in Greensboro. During that time, he won more than two dozen local, state, and national writing awards. After leaving the News & Record in 2014, Jeri spent a decade at High Point University. As HPU’s senior writer, he told stories in both pixels and print, helping lead projects both big and small, and writing and editing everything from books to video scripts. He is now the editor at large at Our State, an award-wining magazine that celebrates the people, places and traditions of North Carolina.
