Steve Halvonik

Steve Halvonik is a retired journalist and lifelong storyteller who spent decades writing about real people and their communities in Western Pennsylvania. Now he turns his eye for detail and love of narrative toward children’s literature. The Cupcake Bandit is his debut picture book—a delightful tale about a boy with a sweet tooth who discovers the joy of sharing. Steve lives in Western Pennsylvania with his wife, Patricia, where he writes book reviews for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and continues to write stories that entertain, inspire, and bring people together.
