Chris Brown

With three decades of experience as an educator and researcher in counselor preparation programs, along with over 40 years as a licensed psychologist providing psychotherapy to culturally diverse populations, Dr. Brown possesses a deep understanding of the connections between negative self-beliefs and mental health issues. She emphasizes the importance of self-worth in emotional well-being, relationships, and personal authenticity. Dr. Brown is Professor Emerita in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in Divisions 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology) and 29 (Psychotherapy). Her work is dedicated to generating knowledge that enhances client mental health and addresses broader social concerns.
