J.D Nutbeam

J. D. Nutbeam is a British author from Hampshire, England, whose stories range from warm children’s adventures to Victorian mysteries, supernatural tales and psychological horror.

Inspired by the landscapes, history and folklore of the New Forest and the south of England, he has a particular fondness for ordinary places where something extraordinary might be waiting just out of sight.

His books include the Harry the Elf adventures for younger readers, The Thorn & Finch Mysteries, beginning with The Mist of Southampton, and Observations of the Immortal. His darker fiction explores ghosts, folklore, memory, guilt and the unsettling things that can happen when the familiar becomes strange.

Whether writing about a helpful little elf, two investigators walking the foggy streets of Victorian Southampton, or something considerably less friendly hiding among the trees, J. D. Nutbeam writes stories with character, atmosphere and a distinctly British heart.

He lives in Hampshire and is usually working on another story before he has quite finished the last one.
