Cameron Friel

Cameron Friel is a husband, girl dad, and proud Michigander who knows what it’s like to feel unprepared and figure things out the hard way.

He served as a Navy Corpsman with the Marines, where he learned what it means to show up for your team—lessons that still shape how he approaches fatherhood today.

After the Navy, Cameron went back to school while working long hours—sometimes biking or catching the bus just to get there. Like most dads, he’s juggled late nights, early mornings, and plenty of “what am I doing?” moments. Those struggles taught him the same principles he writes about now: show up, listen first, and find the humor in the chaos.

These days, he lives in California with his wife, Rhowela, and their two daughters, Emerie and Averie—usually chasing them around the backyard, preferably with s’mores or a campfire nearby.

He writes for dads who want to lead with presence, not perfection.
