Kristy Sheed is a UK children’s author who writes gentle, rhyming picture books inspired by kindness, belonging, and the quiet courage it takes to find your way.
She is the author of Girard's Journey: A Snail's Tale, a beautifully illustrated story about a small snail on a big emotional adventure. The book forms part of Ted’s Woodland Tales - a growing series set in a peaceful woodland world, where each character explores feelings familiar to young children.
Kristy created Girard’s Journey as a family collaboration, working alongside her father, an artist and illustrator, to bring the story to life. Together, they crafted a book designed to be read slowly, shared at bedtime, and returned to again and again.
She regularly visits schools and libraries to host interactive storytime and craft sessions, encouraging children to develop a love of reading while taking small, confident steps of their own.
Kristy shares updates about her books, school visits, and woodland characters on Instagram, and lives in London with her family, where she continues to write new adventures in the world of Ted’s Woodland Tales, celebrating kindness, curiosity, and the magic of small steps.
