Rand Teed

Rand Teed is an internationally certified prevention specialist, a Canadian certified addiction counsellor, and a registered recovery coach. He has worked with teens and adults for over 40 years, focusing on how substance use can impact people's lives. Teed has "lived and living experience" with substance use and is in long-term recovery, a journey that began in 1972. He has spoken about his personal experience and death of his father due to addiction as motivating factors in his work.

Rand has Publisihed two books "Which Way To Turn - Understanding Adolescent Substance Use" and "Collateral Damage - The impact of substance problems on families and friends"

Teed is the creator of the "Drug Class" program and the writer and host of the award-winning "Drug Class" television series. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal and the 2016 IC&RC International Prevention Specialist of the Year. He is a frequent presenter on recovery across the country and has advised the Saskatchewan government on a "recovery-oriented" addictions model. Teed believes that getting through substance use disorder is possible and is motivated by seeing people respond to education and therapy. He meditates regularly and enjoys photography in nature.
