Robert Sae-Heng is a Thai-Mexican illustrator living in London, UK with his fantastically large cheese plant, Elvis and his discerning cat, Mackerel. He began using imagery to communicate as a child because he spent his early years unable to hear.
The first children’s book he illustrated was The One Thing You’d Save, by Linda Sue Park, 2021. Since this publication he has worked on the mini-series (Mini Artists, Mini Architects and Mini Designers) all authored by Joséphine Seblon, and a range of fiction and non-fiction titles including How to Build a Chocolate Bridge, written by Roma Agrawal (to be released in 2026), and How to Build a Home (part of the Little Experts series by Harper Collins), authored by British Architect George Clarke, 2024. Continuing his work with Linda Sue Park, Robert has just finished working on Just One Gift, 2026.
Robert’s favourite things to draw are quaint chairs and seals. He now works with mixed media, combining hand-drawn elements with a digital finish. He is currently author/illustrating his own book about identity and nature.
