Pauline has an interest in social injustice and societies different to her own. She particularly enjoys David beats Goliath type stories, both real and imaginary.

She has travelled extensively and the places and people she has encountered have influenced her writing.

Pauline also has a keen interest in how cultural mores, individual wants and desires influence behaviour. These interests inspired the writing of Song In The Key of Madeleine, which was shortlisted for the Yeovil prize in 2013. It was publshed by The Book Guild in 2021.

These same interests inspired the writing of Love In The Time Of Covid, in response to the 2020 lockdowns. It was published by Pick Lock Publishing in 2025.
