Marianne Simon was brought up in a household of artists, surrounded by writing, music, dance, and painting. She was tossed into the theater at the age of 8 when her parents enrolled her in San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater.
Over the years, she performed on stage and screen, began directing plays, and ultimately writing her own.
In a surprising detour, Ms. Simon discovered a passion for nature and went back to school to become a landscape architect. It was a completely different form of creative expression, and yet similar, as she brought her visions to life in a new way.
Throughout her life, she blended the two worlds. By day, digging in the soil, playing with plants; by night, writing tales of rocks, trees, and waters wild.
Along the way, she raised a beautiful daughter and shared a wonderful life with her husband until he passed away in 2017.
Today she finds herself on the cusp of a new beginning. Embracing this next phase of her life with joy and anticipation.
