A.F. Helios

A. F. Helios writes mystery-charged adventures where science, history, and imagination collide. His award-winning debut, *Loukas & Lydia and the Secret of the Disk*, received the **Grand Prize (Published Book) at the 2025 International Eyelands Book Awards** and launched *The Disk Chronicles*, a historical time-travel adventure series that reimagines ancient mysteries through evidence, engineering, and imagination.

The journey continues in *Loukas & Lydia and the Shadow of Thera*, where the young protagonists find themselves in the Bronze Age, confronting one of the ancient world's most extraordinary natural disasters.

A composer for film, media, and video games, Helios brings a musician's sense of rhythm, atmosphere, and storytelling to his fiction. His children, who inspired the series' protagonists, remain his most candid early readers, never hesitating to point out when a scene works—or when it doesn't.

When he isn't writing or composing, he's cooking with his family, exploring history, sketching puzzles, or planning the next adventure.
