Scott Lawson

Scott Lawson is a retired Dayton police sergeant and current inner-city school teacher whose real-world experience brings grit and authenticity to his writing. After nearly two decades in law enforcement, he brings those insights to his crime-thriller series featuring Detective Angus MacLaren.

His debut novel, Silent Justice, takes readers into a relentless manhunt through Dayton, where a sniper targets criminals who slipped through the cracks. Praised for its realism, layered characters, and moral tension, the book quickly found fans among crime-action readers.

Through his imprint, Badge & Bell Publishing, Lawson also creates family-friendly children’s stories, proving that storytelling can be both darkly gripping and joyfully light. When not writing, he enjoys time with family, hiking in Scotland, and connecting with readers who share his love of suspenseful, character-driven fiction.
