James a Murray was born in Melbourne and grew up in Queensland, the great-grandson of Irish, Scottish and Cornish migrants who settled in Australia in the mid-nineteenth century. Over the years, his passions have included music, bushwalking, and raising his two children. Now living in solitude in a remote corner of the Northern Territory, he spends his days writing and playing online chess.
