Imagine being labelled socially different or other worldly-and not really knowing the reason why you are being labelled that way. That was my life from my childhood to the age of 47. I earned a Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Technical Communications thinking I would solve the problem. But even after earning my post-baccalaureate, I still had difficulty in not only getting a professional level job, but in ordinary social functioning. When I was 36, I suspected that I was Hyperlexic-a condition of early development because I could read at the age of three, but had other issues-such as tying my shoes, catching a batted ball, or other anomalies. Eleven years later, the Hyperlexia was confirmed-as well as my having Asperger's Syndrome-a kissing cousin to Autism!
