Cindy Petersen

Dr. Cindy Petersen has been a leader in public education for over 35 years. Integral to her various roles have been her strong vision and dedication to creating educational opportunity for all students regardless of circumstance. In her 20+ year role as Superintendent/CEO of Gateway Community Charters (GCC), Petersen grew the organization from a single school to nine today, which serve over 5,000 students and employ over 700 staff members. In her work leading the GCC, as well as an adjunct professor for Brandman University and its successor the University of Massachusetts Global, Dr. Petersen has shown her commitment to seeing, investing and developing the potential in others.

Cindy continues to influence, impact and grow leaders through her founding role with Courageous Leadership Coaching & Consulting as well as through her weekly blog - Bits of Courage - which can be accessed on most major social media platforms as well as through her web page for Courageous Leadership Coaching and Consulting.

Dr. Petersen is proud to have been a co-author on two books for women leader: Bold Brilliance: Personal Power and Possibilities and Leading Legends: Female Superintendents Breaking Barriers with Purpose and Power.
