Rand Floyd was born in 1972 at Bethesda Naval Hospital and grew up in San Diego and Reston, Virginia. He earned multiple degrees in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and biology, and a medical degree from Durham University. After completing an internship in St. Louis, he specialized in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology at the Siemens Institute of Radiology.
Floyd balanced a successful medical career with family life, raising three children during his 26-year marriage. Following his divorce in 2024 and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, he began to address his mental health challenges openly. This journey sparked his transition to writing as a means of reflection and connection.
Now an author, Floyd's work explores reflections on family, identity, and resilience, drawing inspiration from his personal experiences and professional background. His writing aims to connect with readers facing challenges in their own lives.
