David G Stone

Hello everyone and thanks for checking in to my bio.

Creative writing has been a passion of mine for about as long as I can remember. As a professional gardener I have had articles about Roses published in journals around the world. Since my 'retirement' in 2014 I have realised my ambition to write Detective stories based in the towns and villages of Hampshire's Test Valley, where I have lived and worked since 1978. 'Fox among the Chickens' is the first of these to see the light of a public day. DI Thomas Fox is a character that I have lived with for some 15 years, and we know each other pretty well, by now! Like me, Fox is a Christian, and so is regularly faced with the conflicts of the moralities of Faith and his duties as a serving copper. He recognizes evil as an active reality in the every day lives of all whom he meets and so strives, with God's help, to overcome the eternal 'enemy', often to the cost of his own physical wellbeing. I have set all my stories in the era of the late 1950's, and those readers who are familiar with his neck of the woods will recognize some familiar locations within the fictionalized area of his 'patch'! My characters, though, are purely imaginary, as are the events of the novels. I do hope that you will enjoy my DI, and will wish to know more of him through later stories.

GREAT NEWS! FOX IS BACK! My second book in the series is now available! 'Fox at the Manger' finds our redoubtable DI faced with a trio of new investigations including that of the enigmatic Master Criminal known as 'The Magician'. Old friends return and new adventures await as Tom Fox and Larry Lamb track down a killer amid the snows of a bleak Midwinter. Please let me know what you think of this latest adventure by posting a revue. Thanks for reading this. I hope that you enjoy my latest offering! David
